Let’s go back in time and see how it all started - Mark Laboccetta, the founder, began freediving and spearfishing in 1987 alongside his father, Eddie, in Sardinia. Together, they used a small Technisub 40cm pneumatic speargun to hunt mullet along the Sardinian coast. These adventures developed his passion for underwater hunting, achieving 11 world spearfishing records recognized by the IUSA.

In 1997, Mark and Eddie secured a National Distribution contract for North America with Omersub of Italy. Their family business managed Omersub and Sporasub until a public corporation acquired it in 2013. After successfully growing Technosport into a multi-million dollar company, Mark decided to leave the corporate world behind. He recognized that spearfishing is a niche industry driven by family-run artisans who produce exceptional products. This passion for craftsmanship inspired him to focus on reviving smaller, high-end companies that prioritize quality and artistry over mass production.
