Tidepool is a silver jewelry company started by Alan Koehring in 1981. Over time, it became a family business when Sabine (Alan’s wife) joined in. She took over quality control, designed beautiful jewelry, and made prototypes. Tidepool believes in love, beauty, and respecting nature, and they hope to pass these values on to their son, Dorian.
Sabine Koehring was born in Reims, France, and lived in Lille, a city famous for its rich culture. She traveled across Europe to India and eventually to California, where she met Alan, who was running a jewelry import business called "Tidepool Enterprises" at that time. After a while, she decided to step into her husband’s venture and take it to new heights. With her yoga inspiration in mind, she created her own collection. Her designs are simple, with attention to detail such as organic carvings and colorful stones, which make them fun and chic for everyday wear.
Tidepool uses unique materials like Dichroic Glass, which was developed by NASA, and Tagua Nut, a sustainable alternative to ivory that comes from South America. By using Tagua, Tidepool helps protect rainforests, demonstrating how important it is to use renewable resources.
At Tidepool, we mix artistic jewelry designs with eco-friendly practices.
